Contraindications to BTL EMTONE treatment

● Pregnancy and breastfeeding: The BTL EMTONE procedure is not carried out on pregnant or breastfeeding women.

● Metal implants: Anyone with metal implants in the treatment area should inform the specialist of this before the procedure begins.

● Skin inflammation: Active skin infections and breaks in the skin’s integrity (including active herpes) at the treatment site constitute a temporary contraindication.

● Uncontrolled chronic conditions: In the case of serious, uncontrolled systemic conditions (e.g. diabetes) or blood clotting disorders, it is recommended that you consult a specialist cosmetologist beforehand.

● Electronic implants: Implanted electronic devices, such as pacemakers, are an absolute contraindication due to the electromagnetic field they generate.

● Active cancer: This is an absolute contraindication to the procedure.

● Recent surgical procedures: In the treatment area, you must wait until the tissues have fully healed (a pre-treatment consultation is required).

How did the BTL Emtone device work? 

Monopolar radiofrequency

Monopolar radiofrequency is a unipolar wave that reaches deep into the subcutaneous tissue, thus affecting connective and adipose tissue. The tissue is heated to 42-45°C, which leads to the stimulation of collagen fibre synthesis by fibroblasts and the reduction of fat stores accumulated in fat cells.

Sound waves are shock waves

Acoustic waves are shock waves that, by causing vibrations in the tissue, cause disruption of the connections in the membrane of fat cells, resulting in faster release and metabolisation of fat. The stimulation of circulation within the treated skin, results in faster removal of metabolites and increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients that reach the tissues with the blood.

Is cellulite reduction using the Emtone device painful?
The treatment is completely non-invasive and very comfortable. Clients often compare it to an intensive hot-stone massage. You feel a strong but pleasant warmth combined with mechanical vibrations. The treatment requires no anaesthesia or recovery period – the only natural reaction is temporary reddening of the skin.
When will I see the first signs of firming, and how many sessions will be needed?
