Laser hair removal in Wrocław using the Motus PRO alexandrite laser

Laser hair removal at Biały Lotos involves permanent hair reduction using the Motus PRO alexandrite laser (755 nm), which is also effective at targeting light-coloured and fine hairs. The handpiece glides continuously over the skin, cooling it to 15°C, so the treatment is painless: you’ll feel warmth and a slight tingling sensation. We offer treatments for the bikini line (including the deep bikini), underarms, legs and face, and for men, the back and neck. The clinic is located in Krzyki (Tarnogaj), at 8/2 Armii Krajowej Avenue, with a large free car park right outside the door.

How does an alexandrite laser differ from a diode laser?

The light from an alexandrite laser (755 nm) is absorbed approximately 25% more strongly by the pigment in the hair than 810 nm diode laser light (according to DEKA’s manufacturer’s data), which is why it is also better at targeting lighter and finer hair. For years, we ourselves worked with the LightSheer Duet and Desire diode lasers, and today we carry out hair removal using the Motus PRO alexandrite laser. Most of our female clients come to us precisely because of this difference.

In our Motus PROWhat does this mean for you?
Wavelength 755 nm (alexandrite)The hair pigment absorbs this light approximately 25% times more strongly than with an 810 nm diode laser (DEKA data).
Light-coloured, fine hairThey contain less pigment, and the 755 nm wavelength detects it more effectively. Grey and white hairs do not respond to the laser.
Skin colourFair to medium skin tones (phototypes I–IV according to DEKA). For darker skin tones, we will assess this during the consultation.
Moveo headIt glides over the skin and cools it with its sapphire tip to 15°C.

Biały Lotos is listed on the ITP website, the distributor of the Motus PRO laser in Poland: itpestetyka.pl/gabinety.

Laser hair removal for the underarms using the Motus PRO alexandrite laser at the Biały Lotos salon in Wrocław

Does Motus PRO laser hair removal hurt?

No. The sapphire tip of the Moveo head cools the skin to 15°C, whilst the head itself moves continuously, gradually heating the hair follicle over several passes. Even when shaving a deep bikini line, you feel the coolness gliding over your skin and the warmth building up, without any individual pricks.

Our observations show that clients who have interrupted a course of diode laser treatment due to pain are able to complete it with us without any problems. The easiest way to find out for yourself is to come in for a free consultation, where we’ll carry out a test laser treatment before you decide on a course of treatment.

DEKA Motus PRO Alexandrite Laser Moveo Scanner Head

How the Motus PRO alexandrite laser works

The laser emits light at a wavelength of 755 nm, which is absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair. The light energy is converted into heat, which heats the hair follicle and damages its ability to produce new hair, whilst the surrounding skin remains virtually unaffected. This phenomenon is known as selective photothermolysis.

We carry out almost all treatments using the Moveo handpiece, which gradually heats the hair follicle whilst simultaneously cooling the skin.

The second head, Spot, delivers a single, more powerful pulse to a small spot. It is air-cooled, without contact cooling via sapphire, which is why we rarely use it – only where high precision over a very small area is essential.

We regularly check the laser using the built-in head calibration test; we inspect the optics and fibre every month; and once a year, the device undergoes a full service including measurements. Burn marks on the optics weaken the beam and may irritate the skin, which is why we do not wait until the annual service to carry out checks.

How often should you have laser hair removal?

We treat the face, underarms, bikini line, arms and forearms every 4–6 weeks, and the legs and back every 8–10 weeks. On average, 6–8 treatments are needed per session; for light-coloured and fine hair, sometimes more.

BatchInterval between treatments
Face, moustache, beard4–6 weeks
Armpits4–6 weeks
Bikini4–6 weeks
Arms, forearms4–6 weeks
Legs (calves, thighs)8–10 weeks
Back8–10 weeks
Why do we have the treatments every few weeks rather than every week?

Each hair grows in a cycle. During the growth phase (anagen), it is attached to the papilla at the base of the follicle and contains the highest concentration of pigment; this is why the laser can only cause permanent damage to the follicle at this stage. The hair then goes through a short transitional phase (catagen) and detaches from the papilla; during the resting phase (telogen), it falls out and nothing grows in that spot for a while.

At any given time, only some of the hairs in a particular area are growing. According to DEKA data, there are 85–90% hairs on the head, and only 20–30% in the pubic area. A single treatment is not enough, as each subsequent session targets a new group of hairs that have started to grow in the meantime.

The intervals vary because the hair growth cycle does not last the same length of time everywhere. It depends on the area of the body, age, gender and hormones. Around the face, underarms and bikini line, hair follicles emerge from the resting phase more quickly than on the legs and back, which is why the intervals between sessions are shorter in those areas.

If the treatment is carried out too early, it is pointless, as the dormant hair follicles have not yet had time to produce a new hair, and the laser would have nothing to target. We’ll arrange the next appointment once the hair in that area has visibly grown back.

Free consultation with a laser trial

The first appointment lasts at least 30 minutes, and the consultation is free of charge. We start by completing the client’s form and ruling out any major contraindications. In the surgery, we lock the door from the inside, so that nobody else comes in and so that you feel at ease, even in a bikini. We’ll ask you about your health and carry out a test treatment: you’ll feel the laser working straight away, and we’ll adjust the settings to suit your skin and hair. From the moment the laser is switched on, both you and the specialist will be wearing protective goggles.

After the trial session, we discuss the treatment plan – that is, the number of sessions and the intervals between them – as well as what is permitted after the treatment, including use of the sauna and exercise. If the skin at the test site looks fine, we carry out the first treatment straight away, during the same appointment.

We can leave the bikini line or a distinct line on the nape of the neck, but the line won’t be perfectly straight because the laser spot is round. You can find out more about this in the FAQs at the bottom of the page.

How to prepare for the procedure

  • 4 weeks before: Put away the wax, epilator and tweezers – you can only shave the hair; do not sunbathe or use self-tanning products;
  • the day before: Shave the area thoroughly using a disposable razor (we do not shave in the salon);
  • On the day of your visit: Your skin should be clean and dry; do not apply any moisturiser or antiperspirant;
  • clothing: ideally, a tracksuit and loose-fitting cotton underwear – under no circumstances should you wear lace, as the rubbing fabric irritates the skin after the treatment (this is essential for the bikini line); for the underarms, a strappy top is comfortable; for the back and neck, a button-up shirt;
  • photosensitising medicines and herbs: If you are taking them, please let us know when you make your booking.

After laser hair removal treatment

After the treatment, the skin may be red and slightly itchy, and there may be slight swelling around the hair follicles. This usually subsides within a few hours. In rare cases, a blister or temporary change in skin colour (hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation) may occur, and in isolated cases, paradoxical hair growth at the treatment site. If you notice any of these, please ring us.

  • immediately after the appointment: Do not wash the area where you have removed hair with soap, and do not apply cosmetics containing alcohol; you should also stop using deodorant under your arms;
  • the first few days: apply a soothing cream (e.g. Alantan or Bepanthen) and SPF 50 sun cream; do not exfoliate;
  • 2–3 days: avoid the swimming pool and hot baths, as well as intense exercise, as sweat and friction can irritate the skin; after a bikini wax, don’t go cycling – but feel free to cycle as normal on other parts of your body;
  • week: It’s best to wait that long before using the sauna, although there’s usually no problem with it after just 3 days;
  • 1–3 weeks: w tym czasie włosy wypadają same, nie wyrywaj ich pęsetą ani woskiem;
  • 4 tygodnie: co najmniej tyle wstrzymaj się z opalaniem.

We have been advising our clients on these timeframes for years, based on what we see in the clinic, and everyone’s skin settles down at its own pace.

Customer reviews of laser hair removal

The comments most frequently mention the comfort of the treatment and the fact that we explain everything in detail.

  • ★★★★★

    I chose Biały Lotos mainly because it offers hair removal for light-coloured hair. The pre-treatment consultation clarified a lot for me, and I was able to decide with confidence whether this was the right method for me. The treatment itself was very comfortable, and the results were visible after the first session. I highly recommend it

    A big plus for me is the ability to book treatments outside the usual season as well. At Biały Lotos, they explained to me in detail how to look after my skin and what to watch out for when exposed to the sun. Thanks to this, I know how to plan my next appointments safely. The treatment itself is quick and very comfortable.

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions are needed, and how often should they be carried out?

On average, 6–8 sessions are needed per area, and with light, fine hair, the course of treatment may be longer. We treat the face, underarms, bikini line and arms every 4–6 weeks, whilst the legs and back are treated every 8–10 weeks. We explain the reasons for these differences above, in the section on the hair growth cycle.

How should I prepare for the procedure and what should I wear?

Four weeks before your appointment, stop removing hair (by waxing, tweezing or using an epilator) and avoid sunbathing. Shave the area with a razor the day before, as we do not shave at the clinic; for your back, it’s best to ask a loved one to help you. On the day of the treatment, do not apply any lotion or antiperspirant, and wear loose-fitting clothing – ideally tracksuit bottoms and cotton underwear without lace. You’ll find the full list above, in the section on preparation.

Can I leave a strip of hair or a precise line at the nape of my neck?

We can get close to this, but not perfectly. Our laser has a circular treatment spot, so the line will never be as straight as if drawn with a ruler, and we do not create patterns. This applies to all areas, particularly the bikini line and the nape of the neck. Shaving the area thoroughly the day before helps us see where the boundary should be, and we agree on this with you before the treatment.

Can my daughter come for laser hair removal?

We accept clients aged 16 and over, subject to written consent from a parent or guardian present at the consultation. In young people, hormone levels are often still stabilising, so new hair may also appear after a course of treatments, and we cannot guarantee a permanent result after the standard number of sessions. We usually advise starting once puberty has stabilised. Mum and daughter can come together for a consultation.

Do men have their backs and necks waxed at your salon?

We do, and more and more men are coming to us. A back treatment takes about 40 minutes. We don’t shave on the spot, and it’s difficult to shave your own back, so it’s best to ask a loved one for help the day before your appointment. Shave the area where the neck meets the hair on the head carefully, bearing in mind the round laser spot (see the question about the line and strip). Men’s hair tends to be thicker and denser, and the treatment series is longer.

Why is the result sometimes less effective than I expected?

This is usually due to a lack of pigment in the hair (grey, red or very light) or to hormones, to which the bikini line, the nape of the neck and the face are more sensitive. The results can also be compromised by waxing or tweezing during the course of treatment, having a tan on the day of the treatment, and irregular treatment intervals. People who have previously undergone IPL or other laser treatments are more likely to experience weaker results, as some of their hair is already weakened and lightened. We assess this during a laser test.

Will my hair grow back after the whole course of treatment?

Usually, there are noticeably fewer hairs left, and those that do grow back are thin and grow more slowly. We do not promise complete hair removal, as hormonal changes or medication may, over time, reactivate individual hair follicles. In such cases, a follow-up treatment every now and then is sufficient.

When is the best time to start: in summer or winter?

It’s most convenient in autumn and winter, as the skin isn’t tanned; we don’t carry out treatments on tanned skin (as we’d have to reduce the power, which weakens the effect). After the summer holidays, wait about 4 weeks from your last tanning session. It’s also possible in summer, provided your skin has a natural colour and you consistently use SPF 50.

How much does hair removal cost for the calves, bikini line and underarms?

Za jeden zabieg: pachy 200 zł, bikini podstawowe 200 zł, bikini głębokie (pełne, ze szparą pośladkową) 300 zł, łydki z kolanami 350 zł, plecy 400 zł, kark 200–300 zł. Na pierwszej wizycie każda partia kosztuje o 20% mniej, np. bikini głębokie 240 zł, a bikini głębokie z pachami 400 zł. W pakiecie 4 zabiegów bikini głębokie kosztuje 960 zł, a pachy 640 zł. Pełny cennik jest wyżej na tej stronie.

Does the skin become irritated after the treatment, and when can I return to work?

The skin is slightly reddened, and there is sometimes slight swelling around the hair follicles. This usually subsides within a few hours. You can return to work and your daily routine straight after the treatment.

Is laser hair removal harmful?

No, provided we rule out any contraindications during the consultation. The 755 nm laser light is absorbed mainly by the pigment (melanin) in the hair and hair follicle, so the surrounding skin remains virtually unaffected. This light lies on the border between the red and infrared spectrum; it is neither UV nor X-ray radiation. Before the course of treatments, we carry out a consultation and a test treatment, and safety goggles are worn to protect the eyes once the laser is switched on.

Can I go to the sauna or go for a workout after the treatment?

Yes, but not straight away. Put off any intense exercise that makes you sweat heavily, as well as swimming and hot baths, for 2–3 days, as your skin is still sensitive to sweat and high temperatures after the laser treatment. After bikini line hair removal, give cycling a miss during this time, but feel free to cycle as normal on other parts of the body. It’s best to wait a week before using the sauna, although it’s usually fine after 3 days. These are approximate times based on our experience, and it may vary slightly from person to person, so we’ll discuss the specifics for your area after your laser trial session.

We have compiled these answers based on the DEKA Motus PRO documentation, training materials provided by the distributor ITP, and the experience of the Biały Lotos showroom team.
